In November 2023 our Tame Valley Patient Participation Group (TVPPG) held its first meeting at Bredbury Medical Centre.
Practices from across the Tame Valley area were represented by volunteer Patient Group Members, who came to hear more about the PCN, how it works to bring better services to local practices, and how the patient voice can be heard.
Our patient representatives were able to hear about different services available, and how PCN staff are supporting local GP teams to deliver specialist care. We also heard from Andrew, a patient at one of our practices, who works to make the patient voice heard at higher levels within the NHS.
The PCN heard how patients are not aware of all the services on offer, and gave us a mandate to improve information in waiting rooms, when staff members contact patients directly for the first time, and via a website.
The group meets once a quarter at practices across the PCN areas.
